The USA/Canada chapter of FGGC Onitsha was founded in 2009, primary by the classes of '82 through '86. The chapter was founded with the following primary objectives:
The chapter's membership has continued to grow, and its social activities and charitable works, have garnered the recognition and support of the school, as well as other alumni chapters around the world.

The all girls boarding secondary school, part of the Federal Government Unity schools, was founded in 1977. It is is located in the Southeastern part of Nigeria. The first graduating class was the class of '82, guided by the leadership of the esteemed founding, and longest serving principal of the school, Mrs. Okobi.
The current principal is Mrs. Nwerem.
